Beavers

Welcome To Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old who are the youngest section of the Scouting family.

The Beaver Motto is Fun and Friends, and their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends, and our Beavers enjoy doing exactly that.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout halls.

Beavers can now enjoy a nights sleepover or camping so they get a taster of the next sections. A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony.  You might have heard about the great things your local Colony gets up to every week.
